Venice in Pairs mode July 2022

Venice in Pairs mode as of July 2022

Venice is the only picture unlocked when you first start a new game of Secret Society: Hidden Mystery. Venice is the only picture to not have its own entry in the Diary. The picture and the hidden objects have been modified several times, most recently in July 2022.

Hidden object name changes April 2018

  1. The Hanami Festival Update (April 2018) made the following changes:
    • Arrow Picture was renamed Arrow
    • Chess "King" was renamed Chess King
    • Dog Souvenir was renamed Dog
    • Snifter Glass was renamed Wine Glass

Hidden Object Items changed in November 2018[]

Venice and Buddha's Square received a makeover with the Thanksgiving Day Update (November 2018.)  The background was unchanged, but the hidden object items were changed extensively.  Many are similar to the former objects, but their appearance and hiding spots have been changed. The items can take different forms.  In addition, many other objects appear during some of the plays.  For example, sometimes there is a wooden airplane perched on the stone urn in the foreground.  The wooden airplane is not among the list of items to find. There are quite a few extraneous items.  The number of extra items which are present for a play increases as the picture level advances from Novice up.

The Thanksgiving Day Update introduced two new pictures, Festive Patio and Dressing Room.  Festive Patio plus Venice and Buddha's Square were the first three pictures in the game to include non-permanent extraneous items in the scenes.

When Venice was re-decorated again in July 2022, the Hidden Objects did not change.

Silhouette mode from Thanksgiving Day Update (November 2018) until Christmas Magic Update (December 2018)

Silhouette mode change and Can be found item changes (December 2018)[]

The Christmas Magic Update modified the silhouettes in Silhouette mode to match the shape of the hidden object to be found in the current play.

The Christmas Magic Update also added the Snowflake and Christmas stocking Combining Elements to the Can be found list.  Also, the Explorer's Eye tool was removed from the Can be found list.

Slideshow December 2018 to June 2022[]

The background was revised extensively in July 2022, but the hidden objects were not changed. This slideshow, which shows at least two examples of each of these modes (Text, Morphs, Silhouette, Pieces, and Pairs) gives an idea of how the extra items can change from play to play. Unlike most pictures in the game, these extra items are in addition to the list of hidden object items which must be found.  On some browsers, the slideshow may display as individual images.

Background changes (July 2022)[]

Some of the background (walls, ceiling, floor, and a few details) were changed as part of the Call of Temptation Update in July 2022. Some textures are different, and some parts are brighter or bluer. Some parts are unchanged. This gallery shows before-and-after images at Pro level.
