Hi everyone,

Here are the steps and instructions regarding how we, the editors have been doing images for the past 9 months. Please keep in mind that most of these tips are to retain consistency throughout the articles.

  • The majority of images used in the articles have the parchment backgrounds removed so that only the item is left. To achieve this, one can use an image editor such as MS Paint, Pixlr or even Photoshop. Photoshop is a paid program, but you can do this free with the other editors. I crop the images as close as possible to the item so there's less background to remove. If you find another program, I'd be very interested in hearing about it, you can leave me a note in the comments section below. Choose one to suit your personal style.
  • One needs to be familiar with writing in wikitext and Classic/Source mode (see Help:Editing to learn more about this) to insert images into tables in the articles where needed.
  • The size of the image is dependent upon the placement in the article. By viewing other articles in Classic/Source mode you can see the varying sizes due to some images appearing larger than others.
  • Images for the rewards given are all in the Images Database. Please never overwrite a file if there's one with the exact same name. You must expand the page and add a redirect (there is a box to tick to do this) so that there are no broken links. Asking an Admin is your safest bet if you are unsure.
  • We have a specific naming process and we only use images with a .PNG extension. There are free image converters available online if one doesn't come with your photo editing program. For example, C582 Heirlooms i06 Family coat of arms.PNG is an image from Collection 582 (the C stands for Collection). Heirlooms is the Collection name and i06 is the image number, these are labelled i01 through i06 for clarification. Family coat of arms is the name of the item (in this case number 6) and .PNG is the file extension. The images are named in accordance with information from the game only.
  • For Collection articles, a cropped and CE (Combining Elements) image is also required. For naming images for other articles, it is always best to view the article in Classic/Source mode to see how they are done and named.

I hope this helps many of you, it is definitely a learning process and took us awhile to understand and master too. Note that no editing credits are given for uploading images to the Database. Happy editing! 😻

A big thank you to GEL for helping me with these! 💖💖💖
